Your technical skill coupled with your artist's eye made this a magnificent shot~!!I totally agree with all the judges who helped with this contest that your picture was the best choice as First Prize winner~! :) Ave
Thank you everyone for the nice comments! I am thrilled to pieces that my photo won. When I took this shot I spent quite some time waiting for the exact moment before the light was right. I measured and remeasured the exposure of the sky and light o…
Great creation,Well balanced composition, every part of the shot is rocking, The clouds are too good & the presentation in Greayscale had added some extra energy in it. Hats off.
Tell us about a little "ABOUT YOU"...[i.e.location, schools, techniques, mediums used, preferences etc.]
I am a self-tought pencil artist based in Tallahassee Florida. My primary focus lies with realistic graphite and colored pencil renderings, and my subjects of interest are people, animals, landscapes and still life. I immigrated from Germany to the US in the 80's and started in 1989 to pursue a lifelong dream of a life in arts and creativity by studying photography with a strong interest in photo restoration. I also developed a passion for jewelry making and studied the craft on the side as a hobby, and later started selling my creations at local art events for several years.

Hi Christine~ Welcome to the site and I must say your portraits have raised some eyebrows~ I have friends looking at your pictures and are amazed~ Some wonder whether you work over photos or from them or with them. My son does portraits & says yours are so perfect he wonders if you do them only with pencil or if you have some sort of program to work with as they are simply excellent. One of his friends said he may want to get a picture done by you & will go home to look for a good photo. Your pictures, no matter how you did them show such skill and are so good .They are all beautiful & I look forward to seeing more of your works here~ :) Ave
Hi Christine~!
You work truly is amazing~i am self taught and have been mixing digital painting with images of my acrylic paintings and can make numerous variations of my work. The digital tools open up a new venue as I can prepare art files to print in various hi quality sizes- its fun too , learning new techniques, this is the first comment I have made on my new laptop~ never had one before - it just came, lol I am off to see how it hooks up to my external drive and printers now... Exciting as I will be able to take my work with me~!Have a great day and keep up the GREAT work~!! :)Ave
Thanks Christine~ I will check that site & also tell my son. I used to do portraits when I was young but stopped when I was late teens & after my accident didnt do them at all for a long time. I tried when I got use of my hand back but I can make anyone look ugly~ so I rarely try - but would like to start practicing and see if I can start again. Landscapes & seascapes are easy for me, but portraits are really hard~ You do them fabulously~! :) Ave
Hi Christine~
Do you have an etsy shop URL you can post into the group? I am making Directories for each group so there will be a quick alphabetical way to find each member's shops for viewers.
Thanks~

Hi Christine~! Okay~ Whenever you are ready :) I want to just be sure not to leave anyone out as I am advertising on the net and hope to bring more viewers - 4000 since June5th so far~! :) Ave
Hi Christine~! My sister adopted a baby girl from China a few years ago and is in the same process again to adopt another one. It was a very expensive endeavour and not easy raising the funds but they did it and you will too~ Their little girl is such a blessing ~! So smart and talented ~ so cute~ a total joy to both my sister and her husband~
Coming up with a shop name is definitely not easy, but for promotional purposes on the internet, be sure to use your whole name in it so people looking up your name will find the shop easily.
