I discovered the joys of photography when I got my first digital camera in 2008 but swapped that last January for another, a Fuji finepix S5700, which has enabled me to go on to better creativity with my camera, which is now my constant companion. Through my meeting so many wonderful artists and photographers, as a member of several websites, I have now started to write poetry and hope to publish a book in the future

THE EAGLE - a poem dedicated to my friend Murphy Art Elliott

THE EAGLE
With a flash of a smile on his broad round face
His shrewd bright eyes assessing the pace
Cap shading face from a sun so hot
Club clasped firmly readying for the shot
Steadying his feet and lifting arms aloft
In one swift swing the ball rose up barely seen
Soaring towards a hole on the distant green
With the gentlest of thuds it rolls into the hole
The Tiger had made it………..an Eagle!!

Hi Jacquei~ You are doing great on your sites!!! I love the background you made for your personal Ning and it is looking really good!!

I haven't been to sleep yet, working over 30 hours, made some other sites for a few people, even had one lady write me bewildered that this is all free!!! She told me I should charge people! I told her if I had to pay, I w ouldnt have done it, so I wouldnt charge others..

We are all learning as we go along and what I am doing now, is trying to organize what I learned over the passed 2 yrs and set it up so others can easily duplicate... I also am doing it so I can get organized... I have frequent 'crashes' and lose my 'favorites' as a result. By setting my own ning, it is helping me to get a better view of what I am doing online.

I am learning new things every day here!!

I have so many sites I belong to now, I am having to make a note of them so I can find them lol! that tiny url you have sent for me does not work, I have copied and pasted it into browser but it does not do anything...what do you think has happened to it? You are so kind doing all this work for everyone. Shelley has become a good friend and we now are members of each others sites. Well done Ave for what you have achieved, I do admire your artistry....your work is amazing.

Hi Jacquei,

Thanks for the comment on my RB portrait. :-) I have that same picture in color. The black & white one is actually more interesting. The painting is hard to get at right now. It's hard these days to get time to myself. Have to get more canvases too. The latest one I'm working on is turning out to be an experiment. It's a blend of dark/light blues and soft white streaks through it. It made me think of a space painting so I started putting in soft stars all over it. Will either put in a soft white plant or moon with haze through it. Will be interesting when I'm finally able to get at it and get it completed. It will definitely get posted when ready. :-)

Okay...kids are begging to go back to the beach today. Taking the trusty camera with me!

Hi Jacquei~ To keep easy track of your sites - I can add a page into your site map for you that each time you join a site, you can go back to that page 'click edit' and add it . It would be like a personal set of tabs for fast navigating... :) Thanks for your comments on this site. I was concerned about being able to visualy read it easier, so enlarged the text as much as allowed and dimmed out the background, brightening up the text letters. I wondered if it was too dark or not.......:)

Only post your 'BEST"works, that are ready for sale-
1)Title them
2)Describe & 'tag' them
3)Provide contact info & pricing
4)Create and Album with YOUR NAME so you can add all your art there, every time you submit new approved works, be sure to place the photos into your album~
{This site is 'manually' loaded, unlike Artwanted etc., where they have pre-load programming, so we each have to do a bit of work, to keep this site organized and buyer friendly as it grows and not just have a 'pile of pics'~!] If you have your own ning site, or want one, I will be forming groups to help connect us all for promotional purposes & will be creating "sitemaps" & other added features for member sites as requested~!

Hi Jacquei~ By having the work in albums it grants more exposure to everyone, since each picture leads to more from the same artists or in the groups albums for those who haven't made their albums yet at least their work is also being shown.There is almost a 1000 pictures on the site already!!
I also just built the wholesale members printing prices for anyone who wants me to do their printing for them~ I was checking prices & what it would cost me to make the prints and material replacement as some of these stocks are really high! I just got 13x19 Pictorio Canvas - $15 sheets $120 ~!!! I look for auctions to sometimes get lucky & find them cheaper, but this stuff is the best~ Same with the Fredrix, like your picture was printed on - great stuff but one error is throwing away $10~! So I have to be really careful with every print I make~

I can also stagger the albums, switching them periodically from featured, to most popular, to random, to newest and so on, so it makes for giving more exposure to everyone & keeps the page interesting.

I know you are trying to improve in your photography & so I feel comfortable giving you honest critiques. :) Ave
